began to consider the content for this year’s diversity issue on the heels of the protest in Jena, Louisiana, and the
40th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s assassination. Race, like a “hype,” was the hot button
issue. The airwaves were filled with discussions around the social construct of identity. And conversations—
