The City of College Park proudly announces that Mayor Bianca Motley Broom has been elected President of the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA), the organization’s top leadership position.
Her election was confirmed during GMA’s annual convention in Savannah on Sunday, June 22, 2025. Mayor Motley Broom will lead the state’s preeminent municipal advocacy and support organization, representing 537 member cities across Georgia. She has served GMA in several roles, including as third, second, and first vice president. She has also chaired both the Legislative Policy Council and the Federal Policy Council.
Mayor Motley Broom’s election to GMA’s presidency is a moment of distinction for the City of College Park, acknowledging the city’s strong legacy of leadership. City Manager Lindell Miller stated that “this is a unique opportunity to ensure our city’s perspective and innovation can serve as a model and contribute to community-focused municipal policies in Georgia.”
In her acceptance speech, Mayor Motley Broom echoed the theme of the GMA conference stating that “Positive leadership starts right here, today human, honest, hopeful…let’s choose hope, choose positivity, choose people and change lives.”
As GMA President, Mayor Motley Broom will advocate for cities of all sizes, working to enhance infrastructure, economic development, and quality of life throughout Georgia. The City of College Park remains committed to progress, partnership, and a government that serves its
