Hall of Fame Inductees Hank and Yvonne Thomas have been marriage and business partners for more than 30 years. Hank served as an American civil rights activist and one of the original 13 Freedom Riders, men and women who bravely boarded the first Greyhound bus that traveled the South in 1961 to protest segregation, while Yvonne was a fixture in the commercial banking management industry. Together, they ventured into hotel ownership and franchising, owning Dairy Queen and Burger King franchises before transitioning to McDonald’s, where they remained franchise owners of nine restaurants for 31 years.
