On Wednesday, Jan. 28, FBI agents raided the Fulton County Elections Hub and Operations Center to continue the Trump administration’s false narrative of voter fraud, causing him to lose the 2020 presidential election.
The FBI executed what some officials suspect may have been a falsified warrant at 7:55 p.m.
The FBI said in a statement that it was conducting a “court-authorized law enforcement activity” at the Fulton County Election Hub. Fulton County officials said that the government’s warrant “sought a number of records related to 2020 elections”.
Immediately following his election loss in 2020, Trump called Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger, imploring him to find an additional 11,000 votes to carry the state. When Raffensperger declined to do so, Trump threatened the state elections official with political backlash that might deter or derail his political career.
District 5 Commissioner Marvin Arrington, also a candidate for chairman of the Fulton County Board of Commissioners, issued the following statement in response to reports of FBI activity at the Fulton County election office:
“Let me be clear: there was no fraud in the 2020 election. Not in Fulton County, not in Georgia, and not nationally. That election was audited, recounted, litigated, and certified. Courts rejected the claims. State officials from both parties upheld the results. The facts are settled.
“What we are seeing now is the continued relitigating of a false narrative for political purposes. Dragging Fulton County’s election operations back into the national spotlight years later is not about election integrity. It is about theatrics and intimidation, and it undermines public trust in local government. As a sitting commissioner and candidate to lead the Commission, I condemn the use of our county institutions as props in a partisan narrative that has already been disproven. Our election workers did their jobs lawfully and professionally. They should not be harassed, scapegoated, or subjected to political fishing expeditions.
“I support the rule of law and lawful investigations. I do not support weaponizing government processes to satisfy political agendas or to keep false claims alive after they have been decisively rejected. Fulton County deserves leadership that protects its people and its institutions, not leadership that allows them to be pulled into national political games. I will defend our county employees, uphold the truth, and focus on the real work Fulton County residents expect, delivering services, restoring trust, and moving this county forward.”
U.S. Senator Jon Ossoff released the following statement.
“After losing Georgia in 2020, Donald Trump demanded state officials ‘find’ votes to change the outcome, tried to use DOJ to overturn it, and spread conspiracy theories that led to the Jan. 6 sacking of the U.S. Capitol.
“I suspect today’s raid is a continuation of this sore loser’s crusade, despite repeated audits and independent reviews confirming that Donald Trump was indeed defeated.
“From Minnesota to Georgia, on display to the whole world is a President spiraling out of control, wielding federal law enforcement as an unaccountable instrument of personal power and revenge.”
Congresswoman Nikema Williams (GA-05) led a letter to Attorney General Pam Bondi following the FBI raid of Fulton County’s Election Hub and Operations Center on January 28, 2026. The raid occurred under the pretext of false and repeatedly debunked assertions from President Donald Trump claiming that he won the 2020 election.
Congresswoman Williams wrote:
“The 2020 election has been litigated. By continuing to raid election locations in Georgia, the Department of Justice (DOJ), this raid serves to intimidate Fulton County voters and election officials, rather than to further any legitimate law enforcement aim. Therefore, I call on you to recall FBI agents from Fulton County election sites, cease any future
unjustified raid on election sites in Fulton County, and respond to questions about the origin, intent, and impact of this raid by Friday, February 13, 2026.
To be clear, the results of the 2020 election are not in question. Court after court has declared that there was no evidentiary basis to find that Donald Trump won the 2020 election or that election fraud occurred.”
The letter continues demanding the FBI and DOJ cease its investigation and intrusive raid into the Fulton County, Georgia elections office. Additionally, Congresswoman Williams asked for clarity on which new facts led the FBI to seek a warrant for a raid, whether President Trump had a role in directing the raid, and what evidence is being sought that is specified in the search warrant.
